@Waldbrand To do that, you need two things that aren't there. First, a strong, competent central government that is not corrupt and is backed by a majority of the people. Second, the political will to actually go through with it.This is not the kind of policy you can effectively enact in a federal republic that pretents to be a representative democracy while in fact being a kleptocratic oligarchy.You would need someone to gather enough power and support to cross the Rubicon and then consolidate their position and prepare for years, all without getting murked by the cartels or the fucking CIA. Maybe it could work if you had a sympathetic US administration.
