I had here an opportunity of seeing a couple of Blackfoot Indians. They are a fierce looking race... #CanadaHistory #ABHistory #HistoricJourney #AmWriting

YORK FACTORY EXPRESS JOURNAL, 1835:"It rained slightly during the night but the sky was this morning clear in many places, giving promise of a finer and more pleasant day than yesterday. Early in the morning passed the old fort. The banks of the river are on both sides covered with wood, but we still have at times a distant view of the lofty smooth hills peering out from beyond the intervening thickets. At half past 2 reached Fort de L'Isle where the deceased..... #Saskatchewan #History #Books

YORK FACTORY EXPRESS JOURNAL, 1847:"Set the people to cook provisions to take them across the #RockyMountains, and got the loads arranged. Took 4 men from the boats to assist to carry until we meet the horses, and hired two Indians we found here to assist us also in carrying. One of the men who was to go out (Abraham Charbonneau) had to be left behind, being unable to walk. Started at 3 pm and crossed the swamp. Encamped a little beyond, in the woods. There is less snow than usual. #BCHistory

Raining at intervals during the day."Saturday. Raining hard. #HistoricJourney #AmWritingHistory #Books
