My fursona comes from a fantasy setting where all equines are fully sentient & can talk. Many choose to live amongst humans as workers (labourers, transportation, shopkeeping, administration) but others prefer to live separately as herds or in equine-focused communes. Magic is commonplace & accessible to all through various means (spellcasting, potions, magical artefacts). Incidentally, the existence of magic & social standing of intelligent horses keep technology levels low

In fact, if horses can be fully sentient in this world, there's no reason why other animals can't also be sentient as well. As a consequence, most humans would probably be vegetarian and you could probably just use alchemy to transmute matter into meat anyway
