       @futurebird I love, and miss the opera.I had an opera buddy to go with last century, but then she got married and had kids and we never had to time to go any more.Now, I don't want to spend that much time in such close confines with people, for safety, even with a mask on.

       @MLE_online Maybe carpark owners should think about making the spaces wider so that people can actually get in and out of their cars with the doors wide open.It would be a great advantage to drivers, especially those with disabilities, especially given how much bigger cars have got over the decades.There is the added little benefit of there being fewer cars parked then.

       @stux We studied both wars, and the political world in between. It has lead me to believe that it was pretty much one long (political) war that continued on through the cold war and probably afterwards.There may have been breaks, and changing of sides, but nothing much has really changed.

       @0xabad1dea Grrrr, so annoying!I used to have no end of problems spelling out my email address on the phone because people don't know the difference between an underscore and a hyphen.Also so many couldn't get their heads around spelling using the NATO phonetic alphabet and then commenting that my email was too long as they were writing out the phonetic words in full!I also used an email that is just numbers (to save spelling it out words), and folks will interrupt me to say they want my email address not my phone number.

       @futurebird At the time I was known to be actively volunteering within the community and had contacts with the local people*. Someone asked me if I knew anyone local who would be interested in a particular part time job. I decided to apply for it myself. I have been there for 11 years now.*I didn't know many people really, but everyone seems to think I know everyone, but in reality everyone seems to know me. I am not sure that is a good thing or not. I have been referred to as 'a local character'! 🤔
