       @clive I'm from the era when it wasn't possible to study ludology at uni .. no mind early school. Nor general game making .. but then again .. art studies were available .. but I chose to study computer science and philosophy anyway. Perhaps the field still has some maturing to do. I rarely see the inexorable relationship between great design and the detail of core mechanics focused on in literature. That's actually the hard part.

       @clive Gary Marcus seems to have single handedly fought and maintained some sanity in the discussions surrounding the deep learning language models. Aided in battle by a post 90 year old Noam Chomsky. Good grief. There are others of course .. nice rationalism with the article
