Then we have the Triad of Twee: Gilliam/Burton/Anderson (GBA). Gilliam begat Burton who begat Anderson. Gilliam has tiptoed out of the game, Burton is a victim of his own success and Anderson has become the filmmaking wing of the Democratic Party. The Raimi/Coen boolean is consistently as good as bad.

@johnhattan @kilroy_was_here It's actually somewhat more nuanced than that. He's sensed the Grim Reaper a'knockin' and is in the frenzied process of remastering all his old movies before he dies. Seems like maybe he doesn't trust the rest of the family to do that at his preferred level of execution.

@johnhattan This happened A LOT in the 50s. Post-war animators were suddenly asked to move the classic characters into suburban domestic situations. This is the same era that Elmer Fudd was a miwwionaire with a yacht, and Mickey Mouse lived in a bungalow and drove a car, and Goofy's name was suddenly "George Geef" and he had a wife and a son (who wasn't Max Goof, who came later. Geef-Goofy might not be the same Goofy as Goof Troop).

@johnhattan What if I told you that Kevin Costner’s four movie opus “Horizon” was cancelled after the first movie was released? And there’s an entire second movie made, but will NEVER be released? And that it was entirely so that Costner could deplete his fortune before death so his ex-wives couldn’t touch a dime of it?Because that is much sadder than Coppola’s limp dick output.

@johnhattan Costner as actor is awful. I’ve never enjoyed his acting. Costner as director is a bloated narcissist who has zero regard for budget, wedges a sex scene in every movie where he lies horizontal and a woman rides his bone like he’s the greatest lover in history, and then waves the American flag around to prove it’s a good movie (because patriotism is what makes it a good movie). Costner as an environmental science entrepreneur: cleaning up the Gulf of Mexico, weirdly. Weird.
