I live in Germany and feel change, too - in a negative way. The holocaust was sth. so deeply misanthropic, and hardly to comprehend, so that I can fully understand your despair... @kuketzblog Na ja, so einfach ist es eben nicht.. Es gibt mittlerweile so viele Abhängigkeiten (Programme, die nur für Windows geschrieben wurden), die im geschäftlichen Umfeld verwendet werden, so dass man sich eben NICHT das Betriebssystem aussuchen kann.Wenn ich Vorträge halte, möchten sie diese im pptx-Format haben, das suche ICH mir nicht aus...

@Radical_EgoCom Myself, living for 18 years in East Berlin, think that this came with other things, most importantly the pushback of the Catholic church in the GDR.In 2024, in Poland, we see much oppression of the LGBTQ community... But I guess there is some scientific work on that.

@Radical_EgoCom @Junk_Mood Totally agree. Capitalism delegitimises itself in particular through its inability to sustainably conserve environmental resources or promote sustainable development. And politics - almost without exception - surrenders to the dictates of capitalism. Not to mention the intrinsic nature of capitalism that produces and multiplies injustice!

@futurebird If I do not feel well, or do feel bored, or feel exhausted - I go to my mastodon instance, read through the posts, and _most_ of the time I fell better, feel entertained, feel refreshed...There is so much positive input from the fediverse.
