       @stux What's he done now? Nope. Yes, yes he is.I had a few students who seemed to think the sun shone out of his backside, so I pointed out that nothing he does is altruistic, it's all for the greater glory of Elon Musk. This was years ago now, before he tried to muscle in on the cave rescue, and I often wonder how my old students think about him now.

       @stux Good god, as if the poor kid hadn't been through enough already. This is beyond fucked up. I'd like to hope that finally the US decides that they can't carry on like this and bring in proper gun controls but, even with all this tragedy, it seems foolish to hope too much given they never have before.

       We were back in the forest for recent dog walks. It's funny, but in the winter I miss seeing the trees and flowers but in the summer I miss seeing the constellations move across the sky.

       @stux That may be more about democracies failing to see that threat before it happens, so not having the appropriate checks in place to deal with it ahead of time. It's also down to the role of the media. Democracy relies on transparency and accuracy of reporting. If the press is biased, censored or outright controlled by certain groups, democracy is going to fail. Fix those things, and democracy can work again.
