@raintrees I wish that worked on my ATSC tv tuner box. Mute only kills the live audio, of the broadcast channels. But the hiss of the tuner's amp, is clearly heard.

The free online Tv channel listing website "Zap2it" has been shutdown. And repurposed as the "NewsNation" listing website, for its programming, by owner Nexstar Media Group.So if you depended on Zap2it, for Tv listings, you just got screwed by a Corp.However, it turns out that Zap2it.com was just a poser (reposter) website of content. @Clambino I'm sure they got paid by somebody. Like the Tv networks, to attract more viewers, by providing a hourly guide of their programming.The same reason most stations bother updating their EPG text, for each show. So we don't have to buy that pricy Tv Guide, each week. That may not even cover all the digital subchannels.But most EPGs only show two shows at a time. Now and next. Depends on the tuner design.

@TruckDriver There was this made for Tv movie, about a Space Station as a Nation (in 1970).And when they had debates about the governing decisions. A computer evaluated what was said, fact checked it, and labeled (on screen) what sort of opinion or propaganda, it was.So the station's citizens could be better informed, for the voting.Seems like a nice use of AI, if they made that a feature of peoples' Tvs. But politicians will never allow it. If they couldn't control it.

Somewhere I have this kid's maze book, that's based on underground Lunar colonies. With robots called R.U.R.sBut it got lost in my collection of books, or my Mom trashed it while I was away for military service.When I tried to find its publisher, it's like the book never existed. Did NASA have it banned from book stores?!The mazes reminded me of "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" by Robert A. Heinlein.I never solved them. Keeping it as a collector's item. Someday I'll upload its pages.

When President Kennedy declared the space race, vs the Russians. He was just following corporate orders.The real reason for the US space program was just two things. It gave the rocket makers something else to do, after finish building 100s of ICBMs.In fact the first manned missions used modified ICBM (Redstone & Titan) rockets.The 2nd reason was as cover to use space to spy on Russia. Camera loaded rockets were passed off as animal testing.Later, satellites replaced the U2 spy plane.

@PNS Ms Yoga Pants ought to get a real pair of shoes. She keeps saying "take your masks off". But never once does her videographer manage to record hers.It seems to me that women see little harm in lying about almost everything. It's like it's their only advantage in "the world of men". So that makes it alright.Basically they get away with doing many things, men are not allowed to do. Like insulting policemen, obstructing them, and recklessly driving cars at them. @francisscottkey That might actually explain something about 3rd World countries, overpopulating their own resources (encouraged by religion?). Causing starvation and disease.I once read that child survival rate was 1 in 10, in some African countries. So they have 10 children, to beat those odds. But that only reinforces the child mortality problem. And breeding within bloodlines, makes it even worse.Resulting in masses of imbeclies, easy to exploit. Commies love that.
