I have never minded the idea of tiny homes, especially in the context of city and urban development and as a great alternative to trailer parks and project housing. They are also a good option for off-grid homes. What makes me mad about them, and what the video did a good job of pointing out is how much they are being pushed as the only affordable option, and how tiny house developments have none of the infrastructure to make them truly viable.We need to fix our infrastructure and get rid of superfluous and expensive building codes, licenses and inspections. Not all codes and inspections, but there are so many of that are unnecessary and exist only to pad city and state government budgets.

Inspections especially for gas and electrical work are especially important, and while I agree with you that engineers are infinitely more qualified, the rubber stamp of their design is not the same thing as ensuring that the construction is conducted correctly. I think we both agree that government enforcement is not the way to accomplish this, especially when there is a financial incentive to have more and more inspections, codes and fees.

I have recently had the opportunity to think about the occasion of baptism. What it means and what its purpose is. You hear so much about the cleansing of sin.I have been to the site of Jesus’ baptism and have pondered the scriptures that speak of it. John says “ I baptize you with the water, but the one who comes after me will Baptize with fire and the Holy Spirit.”That makes me think of the deeper meaning of of fire, water and spirit, and how and when our beings are truly cleaned.Water is the the initial cleansing and nourishment of our being… but our real test comes with the fire that comes after. Does that fire further clean and refresh what the water has wiped clean making us stronger, or does it crumble us down into ashes?The difference, I believe is our faith and resolve.

I think about Christmas, and I cannot forget about the life changing vision of it I had of it while deployed in Afghanistan in 2010. Visions and angels are real. Open yourself to to the reality of Christ and his redemptiveness. You can see your own role in his life, mission and plan if you are only open to his word and love.#gabriel
