@wjmaggos “but Chernobyl”. I am sick of hearing that stock response when I talk about nuclear energy

Too many people associate "rolling" with "bleeding edge" but the two things aren't the same. "Rolling" just means you don't have to keep reinstalling every 6 months. I blame Arch

@poetgrant some kind of anti “fake news” user generated trustworthiness bollocks that will be implemented to mastodon.social. If smaller instances follow suit I am out because every one of those trustworthiness services are awful

Can we put every politician and aspiring politician (not that politics is an aspiration, more something you go into when you can’t do anything else) into a space ship and fire it into the sun?

I find it sad that book shaming is a thing in 2019. No one should be made to feel ashamed of what they enjoy reading. I enjoy young adult fiction because the stories are often more engaging and the characters more interesting and relatable (yes it is true).I have also read and enjoyed several Dan Brown novels including The Da Vinci Code more than once. Why should I feel ashamed?

@architect @matt I get derided online for being a 36 year old man who enjoys YA fiction all the time. It won’t stop me though

@malin me either. Seeing them plastered all over social media and how often politicians use them was a wake up call for me as to their function. Much like “left” and “right” it’s all about attacking ones political enemies than anything useful

I love it when you are starting to think "I am too stupid for this" when working on something in linux, then you have a eureka moment and fix it to make you think you might not be as stupid as originally thought

Sad how cryptocurrency shills have appropriated the term “crypto” which was a thing long before bitcoin (or even computers) to push their crap “currency”

Oh and by the way, no browser bans an extension, web stores do. Couldn’t the website in question distribute it directly for users to side load into their browser?

Ok, let me get this straight. Dissenter is an addon that adds a comment section to any website on the internet against the wishes and without the permission of the person operating the website? How is that ok? Removing it from the add ons stores was justified for that reason alone. People should be free to operate a website without comment sections
