While it's still not enough for us to survive on in our current circumstances, it will at least allow us to be slightly less burdensome to the community.However, I need a properly working vehicle to commute to my job due to the lack of reasonable transit options.Our auto insurance is past due, and I still haven't had the time or money to get the emissions done. My plates are already a concern because I apparently forgot to ever put last year's reg sticker on it which is now lost in the storage unit we're on the verge of losing.On top of all of this, the other day when I was in a hurry trying to get my meds that I'd gone almost a week without, misjudged traffic in my (even more impatient than normal due to the lack of meds) haste and had to nail a curb to avoid an accident.So I ripped a hole in the sidewall of a tire my mom had to pay for after less than a year of use thanks to my stupid goddamned impatience. The previous set of tires were on that car for more than than *ten* years.That was when I posted something to the effect of "this is a dark and ugly day".Anyway.. so I'm driving a dirty, beat-up, 19 year old car with a spare donut tire, plates that *appear* to have expired a year ago, registration that *actually* is going to expire this weekend, and insurance that's about to expire the same time. I'm uncomfortable with those odds.Fuck me this being poor shit is getting old. I am physically and emotionally raw, from a job that gave me an inflation-adjusted annual raise of one penny per hour a couple of months ago, implemented just in time for them to gut payroll for May. Neat! I guess I should be grateful I have a job, yada yada.So, in summary - I need to at least keep my car insured, registration current, and replace the nearly-new tire I destroyed due to stupidity. Unfortunately this was another two-day weekend. I say "unfortunately" only because it leaves me short on funds because I have no daily pay advance available in the morning to cover our motel room.Speaking of our motel room, we've set a goal to find cheaper accommodations by August 30th. We have been so incredibly fortunate to be able to stay here thanks to the kindness and generosity of all of our friends here on the Fediverse. It's been a refuge for us as we try desperately to get our shit together. Please bear with us a little longer as we continue to try and do so.I also finally got my antidepressant prescriptions refilled, and they're of course suddenly a bit more expensive than last time. Today is my day off to recover from the exhausting misery of retail, which means I don't have enough for tomorrow's payment.I'm sure most of our friends here have reached their limit of us constantly pleading for #MutualAid, and/or are (more likely) "tapped out" after we've failed to get our shit together and spent all their money.I get it. While I try to keep it "low-key", it's still a nuisance. It's still taking funds from other people. It's bleeding people we've never met of their funds that they actually *did* work hard for. It's my day off after a brutal week at work, which means I get to spend the day sleeping or stressing about tomorrow's motel bill. I spaced getting this taken care of, and I've got mere hours before they charge a late fee that costs nearly as much as what we're short.Forgive me for the millionth time, but I need help paying this bill. Alright.. now that I'm finished raging about our new slumlord Emperor Napoleon, it's time for me to focus on keeping us sheltered.Forgive me everyone for panhandling yet again. The aforementioned slumlord problems are only increasing our desire to get the hell out of here and into more permanent housing as soon as possible.I'm sorry we've taken so long to get out of here. I've got to get us into an apartment soon, but not one that's going to be even more traumatic for my partner's #CPTSD. Not sure that's within our price range, however.We found the perfect one - we're just too poor. I just don't make enough to qualify and it's maddening, because this is the case even though we've been managing to cover almost $700 more per month at the motel the past two months than we'd be spending in the apartment (with massive help from the #MutualAid community of course).*sigh* I just want to keep my partner safe.Anyway.. enough whining about money, because there's no time. Hello, my friends.I've stared at this screen for five minutes trying to figure out how to write this.It's getting to the point where the thought of having to write yet another begpost (especially one of such an amount, again) makes my skin crawl.But I must do this because I need to everything I can to keep my family safe.My only hope for ceasing this constant digital panhandling is a promotion at work that I really, really need.
