This was my third #leatherworking project, a hat that I got the design off of CreativeAwl from Etsy, but I dyed it differently and omitted parts. I was trying to replicate the #leatherpride flag around the sides of the hat... this was well before I discovered the right tools for making it easier to hand dye the leather. It was a heavier weight than called for, but it does work out with it being slightly tight and while I know that I could have improved the dye job, I was happy with how I cut, sewn, burnished, and finished the hat on both sides. I also made sure to put in craft wire in the brim so that the brim can be shaped as I wish.The learning experience was that a proper wing divider would help make the stripes more uniform and I could have employed the idea of leather carving and cased the side piece to get more uniform hearts. I also learned that it's very important to pick the right weight of the leather when making something, because it might not fit exactly as it should.@actuallyautistic @leatherworkers @theautisticcoach

@jec @actuallyautistic I erroneously assumed that work done by autistic people like myself should post to it... I'm not too terribly social media savvy and after I saw what Autistic coach posted asking about autistic artists that I should keep posting my projects there. I'm fairly new to mastadon as well, so I might not be aware of all appropriate etiquettes.

@magicalgrrrl @mutualaid Knowing how it's like living in my car as autistic and gay, I know how important it is to get the needs met regarding food and shelter. The processes for getting assistance are too convoluted and complicated.Boosting for visibility.

@Doreen32128 @AnarchoNinaWrites @edpeters I'm also not a huge fan of the Dems and to put someone who seems to be in alignment with maga people.... and seeing how he's getting more support than Marianne Williamson is just 🤦🏻♂️... I think it's safe to blame Jimmy Dore and his associates who maintained support for TERF Tulsi in 2020. That being said I think such people pretend to be progressive while actually being conservative/fascist.... while I have agreed about how the progressive wing of the DNC appeared to have capitulated and acquiesced to the corporate wing the JD types seem to have abandoned the idea of solidarity over issues and allowed Tucker Carlson to influence them. These people self-proclaimed themselves as free speech absolutists but get mad when we make points about what's wrong with RFK.... the 🥶 🍑

Autistic people were experimented on by Hans Asperger... the survivors had the diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome the ones who died were euthanized. This is in addition to the 6 million Jewish people killed.RFK and Elon Musk both are ablest and direct threats to both autistic people and LGBTQIA2 people. So why exactly would you post as offensive as that? Is it because of the picture I attached?

@gme I'm cis but I'm also gay... I actually relive my childhood trauma rather frequently especially 30+ years later practically daily...But I think that trans people probably have a bit more than external traumas (like abuse, bullying, or betrayal) especially when trying to avoid outing themselves to their potentially unaccepting coworkers. I don't think it would be my place to say anything further on that.@JessTheUnstill

@strypey one source I used to follow on LinkedIn offered calling it autism spectrum condition instead of autism spectrum disorder.. perhaps the D could become a C?

@Furpilled Well oddly enough I do find your attack against me to not be silly but in fact a form of harassment even against another neurodivergent person who is #actuallyautistic ... please remove your toot. if you are going to shame people for not being vegan I don't welcome it. If you are going to invade another safe space to hurt people in that space that's unacceptable.@actuallyautistic this would be one of the reasons why I made a prior post to the group

I think I finally figured out why I left social media and why I may never return...the stigmatization, the use of words I identity with as insults...As much as I may have cared about people, I have come to the conclusion that acceptance has been impossible for me to achieve... and worst of all it's during pride month that I actually experience this.sorry @actuallyautistic, but I am thinking it's time for me to disappear from social media... I left twitter in 2010, I left Facebook in 2016, and I left LinkedIn in 2022.I can't handle the trauma I already experienced in childhood that was normalized, I can't handle the use of my labels as gay, kinky, or autistic as insults... I'm reliving mental health struggles before I came out as #LGBTQIA2 #gay, #kinky, #leatherboy, #actuallyautistic, and #childfree. I do not have the capability to compartmentalize.Seeing as people of the various identities that I may have I face issues of one from or another. It's just so hurtful during #pridemonth to be experiencing this. I feel like I want to seclude myself from society.
