@wjmaggos @codefolio @victoriadecapua @mike @northernlights That's part of the community-driven process.It does NOT help to frame discussions as "make it like Twitter" though, which is dismissive. Besides, the community-driven aspect of Mastodon is THE biggest difference from Twitter. New features and discussion of best practices for community moderation won't alter that one bit.One great way forward would be via serious #UX research, which afaik has not been a part of dev so far.

@molly0xfff “Choose my own server” is loaded language that implies I should already know what server I want“Find another server” or “Look at other server options” or “Choose from a list” would feel less like “go ahead, I dare you!” Defaulting to .social also comes with risks, esp given its moderation problems have led some instances to silence or completely defederate from it
