Season 7 of TNG sucked, but not for the reasons I've been able to find online.It's a weird case, that series. It started in '87, and was full of a certain kind of political retardationā but it was a wonkish sort, rather than the corporatized mass-consumption kind that people now call "wokeness."It's like the series started with true believers in Gay Space Communism, had a golden age from seasons 3-6 where that shit was shoved into the locker so the writers could tell fun scifi stories, and then season seven is just "akuchally, warp travel is causing global warming and starfleet is patriarchal so everyone should leave to go do magical terrorism."

Valkyrie Profile is way better than I was expecting. The protag (a mercenary) insults a princess, so she shows up at his house incognito, and enlists his services. She awkwardly drags him to a restaurant where she bitches out the staff and embarrasses him in front of the owner.>What is this, diarrhea soup?!He's a rough dude, but he still can't handle this woman's behavior.The story glides from showing his odd sense of propriety, to his relationship with his crippled brother, to restaurant fiasco, to an assassination plot, a political intrigue involving an evil wizard-spy, to him offending a Valkyrie by calling her a "Shinigami." It all happens in the space of an hour or so, but feels well-paced and is full of small twists.It took a couple weeks of translating all that for me to get to the actual gameplay, which is also pretty good.
