@mangeurdenuage @kaia @duponin @mangeurdenuage @kaia @duponin As a native English speaker I like German/Finnish as for obscenities. Who doesn't like yelling out Scheiße? It feels more potent than its closest English equivalents. I suppose the words fuck / goddamnit also carries a weightyness to it, but I was watching a video on Finnish curse words and I realized just how much isn't possible to express in English that is possible as far as swearing goes in other languages, like Finnish. For example, you can say Vaista Vittu = Literally, Smell a Cunt, Figuratively= Fuck You, or Suksi Vittu = Literally, Ski to a Cunt Figuratively= Get out of here. And howabout this: voi vittujen kevät ja kyrpien takatalvi = literally, The spring of cunts and the winter of cocks. Vittu soikoon =Literally, Let the cunt play/chime

@LouisConde @Ghislaine How did you discover Ray Peat's work? I'm surprised to see someone else on here posting his articles.

@LouisConde @Ghislaine Apparently so, I'm quite shocked to see his work being posted on Fedi of all places, that's cool though. That reminds me, the very first article I read by him was his article on coconut oil in 2011. Before that I was guzzling disgusting fish oil tablets and doing a "paleo diet" and trying to figure out why I was feeling terrible, heh.

@LouisConde @Ghislaine I think that's normal to have that reaction. It took me a while to process what he was talking about too. It all seems very counter-intuitive.

@LukeAlmighty I think the World Economic Forum is what catapulted her into the spotlight. Without them she would've probably remained an unknown figure. You're onto something with the age as well. Kids are used as props for political agendas. A child giving an impassioned testimony has an emotive effect on adults. As disgusting as that tactic is, look up the Nayirah testimony for an example of it being used prior to Thunberg.

@jeffcliff @bot @OvaryActing @mushroom_soup @thendrix A lot of jobs they seem to want to do away with automation. I suppose it's a matter of speculation but I could see them trying to go after the barista job as well.

@kaia @mangeurdenuage She's pretty, but either incredibly naive, or actively evil. Exhibit A: Her smiling ear-to-ear with Klaus Schwab. (If you don't know who Klaus Schwab is, you might find this article about his background interesting: https://unlimitedhangout.com/2021/02/investigative-reports/schwab-family-values/)

@thendrix @shibao @kaia As someone who has dealt with the mental health system, I would say mental health resources can do more harm than good.

@thendrix @shibao @kaia Good of you to do that. As that man did. We should all try to listen to one another. My main gripe with it is it doesn't change the status quo. And listening is a human thing, it's sad we live in a world where we rely increasingly on the paid listener, rather than lover or friend to share innermost thoughts and feelings.

@mushroom_soup @Humpleupagus @rikkatakarada @Telvannichad @becassine @bot @e @mystik @mushroom_soup IUDs are universally toxic, not just copper ones (I know women personally who have been on the IUD). If men had the equivalent stupidity for so-called "birth control" for men, it would go like this. "Hey, I have a brilliant idea. Let's put a plastic/metal rod up your dickhole for 5 years, and see what happens." Unfortunately, the dangers of these ideas and people's reluctance to criticize unsafe birth control products (and people voting with their dollars) is probably the reason why the billion dollar estrogen / pharmaceutical industry is able to groom young women into destroying their health to prevent pregnancies. There is no good system available because the best available methods have basically been pushed into the underground. I've talked with women on various birth control methods that I've known and there doesn't seem to be anything good for women especially, it's all quite toxic. Even for men, men who have had vasectomies are at a higher rate for various testicular cancers, and some men also experience phantom pain in their balls after surgery. The safest methods, like the diapraghm / cervical cap were eliminated from the market, along with progesterone (which Katherina Dalton wrote about in her book Once a Month), progesterone is not patentable so it's not really profitable to sell it as birth control, despite it (unlike estrogen) preventing implementation of the sperm to the ovum (progesterone closes up the cervix). BTW, I find it funny how all the guys are dogpiling on you in this thread and moralizing at you for wanting to have sex. The fault isn't on women for wanting to have sex, it's on the whole industry for not creating a safe/reliable birth control system that doesn't destroy women's health. Katherina Dalton, the progesterone researcher found women using high doses of pure progesterone were able to safely prevent conception, unlike the traditional methods which mostly don't prevent conception and are toxic, but make women prone to miscarriages. The so-called "birth control" pills would never sell if they were honestly named abortion pills, because of the tendency to causue women to have spontaneous abortions and the religious backlash that would cause.

@ehhh @mushroom_soup In Nutrition for Women, the author talks about the dangers of the IUD. The book is freely available if you search the title online. If not I can send you a link and the reasons as to why IUDs are not safe, nor are traditional estrogen birth control methods safe. A fitted cervical cap or diaphragm he mentions as being safe, along with progesterone. Unfortunately, there seems to be no legal way for women to get a fitted diaphragm / cervical cap, and the ones doctors now sell are ludicrously ineffective and a one-size fits all. The rationale he gives for them being unsafe is they create a stressor being in the body which raises the estrogen and creates an imbalance of hormones, causing infertility. But that hormonal environment in the longrun, is not ideal and stressful. The feminist activist in the 80s Barbara Seaman also spoke out against the pill and other methods that are still popular now, but she seems to have faded into relative obscurity: https://www.veteranfeministsofamerica.org/legacy/Barbara%20Seamen.htm

@mushroom_soup @ehhh https://libgen.is/book/index.php?md5=AEC1F81BAE4346724B856F594B076C98Here's the book I was referring to. Unfortunately I think most women have to go through the journey of feeling awful and not knowing why for years in their health journey, me flinging a book at them on the Internet is not going to accomplish anything.

@mangeurdenuage @kaia Yeah. You might already be aware of this, but Big Oil coined the term climate change. The euphemistic language they use for the destruction of life is telling to their dimwitted level of perceptual awareness. No real surprise they blame us.
