Made some progress on prepping the two dishes I'm taking to the family gathering. Which means the house smells like the three pounds of cauliflower I steamed. Things that remind me of walking home from the school bus stop, smelling the boiling head of cauliflower mother was cooking for dinner, with disappointed wee tears in the corners of my eyes. Oh how things/tastebuds change.

Today I made the mistake of leaving my hearing aids at home when I went to volunteer with the 5-6 year olds. Thankfully I could hear the kiddos fine, but the adults were tougher.

Thanks to drumpf and his ilk, I began to think about encyclopedias and how I used to drag them out of the hall bookcase, onto the floor where everyone who wanted to travel from one part of the house to the other had to stumble over me and the big books. Mainly because .... those old tomes might be all we can refer to. I hope those used book stores still have a few sets.
