       @hackaday Just one? 😂 One of my top pet peeves is the steep decline of search engines. Smarter people than me can write more eloquently on the subject but they quite simply do not work very well any longer.  SEO and machine-generated websites are partly to blame, but the real culprits are the people behind the search engines themselves.

       I've had a sore throat for two weeks straight. I've taken 6 rapid COVID tests and haven't gotten a single positive. At this point do I just assume it's some sort of unprecedented allergy thing? Or should I try to get in somewhere for a more official test?

       Back when I worked in the office pre-COVID, I rescued two "spent" grocery store orchids that a coworker threw away. I was able to get them both to flower again by cutting back the stalks a bit. Then the stalks died off and for the last 3-4 years I've tried SO MANY thing to try to get them to flower again. None worked... until now! They're both sending up new stalks! I'm so excited! The solution was SO stupidly simple: orchid-specific fertilizer.#plants #flowers

       I'm obviously not the arbiter on what is or isn't antisemitic hate speech. But I keep seeing vague claims that the protests have been making antisemitic chants, etc. I can't find any details on these supposed chants. Clearly antisemitism is bad and wrong. But is this just one of those cases where anti-zionism is being mislabeled? Or is there seriously a problem with antisemitism in these protests?

       @MLE_online Years ago I had one tell me he'd invented a device that used "excess" electricity from a car alternator to perform hydrolysis and used the hydrogen to boost the car's mileage. "It's free energy!"It took him until his 3rd or 4th year before he finally believed me that his invention violated fundamental laws of physics (namely conservation of energy).
