@thomas_klopf Vibe coding tools are also great for people like me, who know basic stuff like how to write a for-loop, but who have only a high-level understanding of all the other shit you need to actually write usable software, and get lost in the weeds of syntax. The thought of people making software without understanding core stuff like ... Paths, variables, loops... How to think algorithmically... *Basic logic!* Yeah, that's scary. Gonna suck when that kind of software is inside airplanes.

@Unabart If you have a sous vide cooker, you can put a sealed can of sweetened condensed milk in at 204F for 2-3 hours and it *becomes* caramel! I've been intending to try that with this ice cream recipe, you are beating me to it. Your version sounds fantastic.

@thomas_klopf @Unabart Gas is cool for wok cooking because a big-ass burner can heat the sides better than any kind of electric. BUT... I was watching a wok cooking video the other day and the guy made a really good point. Chinese homes don't have big-ass restaurant-grade burners. They use much smaller burners, often smaller than a western home burner. Cooking on a rippin' hot giant gas burner is cool, but it's analogous to how a steakhouse cooks a steak: special. Wok with what you got.

@Unabart The Dead are an "important" and beloved band, and so one day I resolved to sit and critically listen to a lot of their music, to see if I could finally get into it. I relaxed and concentrated and let the music move through me... And I just hated all of it, haha. Well, I sincerely tried!

@Unabart I don't know that specific device but the torrent of Chinese electronics that buries us nowadays includes a lot of inexpensive, decent handheld ham radios. I would look at Baofeng. Make sure it is "type approved" for your country of residence. A big decision a new ham needs to make is are you interested in talking across town (handheld VHF/UHF radio on a repeater network) or across the world? (Desktop HF radio and a big-ass antenna)
