@GrumpyOldNurse @Fullycaffeinated I once worked for a crew that sold speed from the HQ, it didn't involve power tools or machinery, but others might have been using vehicles. I appreciated the honesty, but resented they were putting business expenses onto the employee.

Right, again thinking of migrating to elsewhere in the Fediverse, but might actually have the energy to follow through this time. Previously recommended was No Agenda Social, which if it still exists seems tied to a podcast I've no intention of listening to. I would like to take the easy route out and go with Mastadon, but I'm getting the idea that it's not the sort of place you can say TWAW when the 'A' stands for 'aren't'. Being Irish I like the idea of having "TheGab" after my name but that seems to be right wing Trumper space, similar with Rebel Base. Poa.st it is then?

@Flick Thanks for the infographic which if nothing else so far confirms that this is maddeningly complex and I'm right to ask for help. I want to migrate because as my bio states I am a man and while I feel alright posting on here when I've got something to say or point out on the pressing issue of the day I'd also like somewhere that I can just post whatever I want off the top of my head, while still following the people I follow here, and giving those that follow me the opportunity to keep doing so.

@Flick Oh yeah, I wouldn't be here if it didn't, but sometimes it's only going through my post history do I realise just how long I've been on. I don't need it for the more vital service it provided at the start, when I was suspended from Twitter for very politely stating one of the realities of sex, say what you want about Musk, him taking over Twitter put an end to that problem, but since then I've permanently lost that Twitter account largely due to my own incompetents, partly due to a broken at the time verification and appeals system. Thanks Musk, Tusk. I may or may not return to the Twitter maelstrom at some point, but in the meantime I want somewhere I can post my art and rantings on any subject without reservation, I'm here hopefully to offer provision to the women's movement, not to exploit it.

@Sherri_Ingrey @Flick So to clarify, you got banned during Musk's reign? Mind I ask what the theme of the offending post, or was it a mob attacking your account directly? I'm banned because it asked for a date of birth and I gave a fake one, a date that put me as well over 18, but they backdated it to the decade or so previously when I created the account and inferred that I was underage then so zero tolerance, but for a clearly broken appeal process that took me round in circles and promised to delete my data after thirty days. So however many years of activity and a not insubstantial personal word count forever lost, I don't think even a GDPR request would get me anything.
