He took the vax but told others to do their own research.I've long speculated whether the Repubs hoped covid would lead to a culling of Americans. Technological advances are reducing the good paying factory jobs of old and a UBI will soon become necessary and eat corporate profits. If they could eliminate a huge chunk of the labor force, though, that would keep the machine chugging along an extra several years.

@BenPatrickWill @themarkup @Ammienoot Open Source alternatives was briefly mentioned, but needs to be amplified. Most are free (though we should donate to support development). That alone gives us more bargaining power.More important, the Open Source community isn't doing it for money, so they're more likely to take data privacy seriously.

@LALegault @8petros Let's look at it as what it truly is: is a conflict between a western settler colonial state and the indigenous population that is being ethnically cleansed. Now, as an arm to project western dominance, it has become an internal issue as well. That's why they feel justified abridging rights and even attacking protesters with police.

@Radical_EgoCom While that makes it more difficult to analyze his ideas, we cannot expect any person to have been 100% correct about everything. This is why it's important to examine the merit of the idea separately from the idea's proponent.I'm still new to this space, but I've found the left much better at doing this than liberals or conservatives.

The founder's wrote the Constitution with the understanding of their times that people who were power hungry and authoritarian would be brought to heel by their peers with the minimal constraints they placed in the Constitution.Those constraints have failed for generations at this point.
