Seems DuckDuckgo is also going political like Mozilla. Their official account on Twitter is sharing an article that claims its a problem that conservatives was recommended conservative facebook groups. I switched to qwant a few weeks ago when I found out that DuckDuckGo search results are just Bing result with another logo on. Furthermore they are paying Bing for these results and no need to feed the Microsoft beast.I want to like searx but cant seem to get into it.https://botsin.space/@duckduckgo/105650887994633520

My reason to share this is not so much being political but more to warn there could be a possible privacy problem with DuckDuckGo if they are taking sides like this.

Have you heard about this search engine:https://www.mojeek.com/They claim to have their own webcrawler and full privacy. Im playing around with it and the results are not too bad.

@luke its so sad that web dev have been taken over by marketing people from hell. Another type of webpage that trends now is “7 ways to fix problem X in 2021” they then give 6 useless advices and the 7th advice is to buy their crappy software that does who knows what to your computer. Google is filled with these crap site most likely because they buy ads 🤮

@GreenLeaderFanClub MacOS has excellent control over the Mac hardware and its still a very secure and reliable system. It is bloated and Apple has gone woke, privacy is becoming a joke and all that. But to say you prefer windows is like saying you will replace a V8 engine in a car with a 4 cylinder 2 stroke engine.But give it a try 😉

@derek I actually kind of like Gnome software, it usually gets the job done.Hopefully someone will dare to fork it all and make Libre versions

@VikingKong I use Brave browser with javascript disabled as default. Also have the extensions PopupBeGone 1.0.1, Remove Cookie Pop Up 0.1.0 and UBlock Origin. Each of these steps handles some of them and in all I never see any popups anymore. It does however break a lot of pages 😕

@VikingKong Dont know what Inoreader is but I do know that using "Unsubscribe" is the worst you can do, then they know you read the email and they will bombard you and possible sell your email address to other spammers. I learned this the hard way...Blocking them on server level is the way to go because they will probably all the time invent new mailing lists and add you to them.
