A @trans_rescue passenger made this for me, I have it hanging above my bench and I think it's really cool. They seemed surprised when we said "That's awesome, you could make those and sell them!". Would any of you buy a crochet resistor keychain from them if you could?

Huge response to the @trans_rescue passenger's crochet resistor in above Toot. I will pass on the feedback to them and try to point them at means which aren't Etsy by which they could sell them. It's their call and them you'd be buying from not me or TR, so how or if it happens is up to them.

There was a time when a boycot of Hachette, HarperCollins, Penguin Random House, and Wiley, would have seemed impossible. But we live in an internet age.I spent most of my career around publishing. They like to see themselves as innovative custodians of knowledge, but they're not. Instead they're an industry of legal departments that happens to produce a few books, and their gravy train has been shunted into a siding.Don't buy your information from them. It's all available elsewhere now.

The legal departments thing is not a joke. I suspect if they all didn't spend so much effort on lawyers sueing each other, they'd make more money. But it's such a deeply entrenched culture.

Ok, a bit of good news from this year.Dora Richter was one of the first trans women to receive gender reassignment surgery, in Berlin.She was for years believed to have died in the Nazi raid on the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft, the world's first gender clinic, because she disappeared afterwardsLast year it was found that she got away from Berlin to her home village in what is now Czechia, survived the war and forced relocation to Germany, and died an old lady some time in the sixties.

I had someone tell me that Antifa were terrorists last night, in a European hackerspace. Because demonstrations can be violent.Dunno who needs to hear this, but I grew up through the Troubles. I know what *real* terrorism is. It's not violent protests, by any means, even if they are unpleasant and you don't like them.The inflation of that word to mean anything you don't like has to stop. Just hope and pray that you don't end up in a place that has real terrorism. You really don't want that.
