       @ThomasWic this is the only reason that makes sense to me. Impeaching a POTUS who is supposedly on his way out in 2 weeks would be like cops arresting a guy on his death bed with hours to live. What I don’t get is why they are even bothering with impeachment 2.0 since they’ll never get the required 2/3 of the senate to convict.

       @Debradelai then you better figure out a way to remake the Republican Party. I’m seeing a growing sentiment that many lifelong R voters are flipping the bird to the traditional GOP,. Does anyone here believe McConnell or Paul Ryan could draw a crowd of 50k+ for a random speech? There is a reason Trump can.Right now, the two parties in Washington are indistinguishable to me. I could count on one hand how many R’s I believe are not simply RINOs spewing BS to get elected.

       @Debradelai then I guess the droves of former Republicans now registered as independents must be missing something. What do you know that they don’t? We could be here all day listing the ways McConnell screwed Trump over the last four years. He wants Trump gone for good as much as the dims do. If you really believe McConnell types can lead the GOP to a bright and conservative-principled future...then you’re on Pluto if I’m on Venus.
