@mhoye @arclightA major problem with #Excel isn't anything to do with sex or age.It's to do with domain applicability. "Everything is a nail."The number of times that I've seen people do database work laboriously in Excel when _there's a database tool right there in Microsoft Office_ is depressing. I haven't yet personally seen someone do word processing or mail merge in Excel, but I would not be at all surprised by it.Too often the problem is that of using only one tool everywhere.

Twitter disabled Movetodon's access about 8 hours ago.You don't have until next week.The casualty is not the FediVerse. The casualty is the people who relied upon free-of-charge #Twitter, directly or indirectly, for everything from authentication to robot-posted pictures of possums. #TwitterMigration people are regularly told that the FediVerse is not one big #Twitter but lots of little Twitters that can cross-post.In fact, it's lots of little Twitters, several little Instagrams, some YouTubes, & some other stuff; that can all cross-post.The FediVerse's equivalent of #Instagram is #Pixelfed. If you find a Pixelfed WWW site, you'll see that it's roughly like Instagram. People make accounts, post photographs, like each others' photos; you know the drill.(continued...)
