       If #trans people are telling you to not buy Hogwarts Legacy or Harry Potter products, and you do regardless, to me it reads as you prioritize your own comfort and nostalgia over the very real danger that trans people are facing now, danger that is propagated by JKR and other TERFs.  #LGBT #HogwartsLegacy #HarryPotter

       @wjmaggos this is an entirely different situation to that, and I don’t think is an apt comparison. I think trans people should be trusted on what we consider harmful to our community, as we face the effects directly. JKR has for a long time put her money towards funding trans genocide. She has explicitly said purchasing her work is equal to supporting her views. When offered gentle guidance, she’s doubled down. Additionally, trans existence and access to healthcare should not be “debated”.

       @chris transgender people have been advocating for laws that allow self determination without needing surgery that affects reproduction. Quite the opposite of eugenics. It’s unfortunate that many states make us choose between being able to have biological children or have an affirmed identity. It’s why there needs to be solidarity between trans rights and reproductive justice; we both fight for autonomy of our bodies.

       @chris you’re welcome! I can’t always guarantee I have the energy to do explanations, but I try. Yeah, there’s a lot of great overlap between the fight for repro justice and trans rights.For a direct example of how anti-trans laws are eugenics, look up InterACT, an intersex advocacy org. All anti trans laws have an exception for surgeries of intersex people, regardless of their ability to consent or necessity for urinary or reproductive function. They’re done just to enforce a binary.

       @seldo unfortunately you still get a lot of Nazis and slurs; I learned that the hard way a couple weeks ago.
