       @joeligj12 I'm going down a pretty similar path myself, so it's really interesting to read what you've done. I still need to get round to deleting my reddit account though... but given I only comment about once a month on it anyway, I might as well. At this point, it's just a couple of subs like r/hardware keeping me there at all.

       @metalune I've been using it for a while to get some music and yeah, it pretty much works like that.I think most of it's been m4a, not mp3, but it allows me to just download it, move it elsewhere and use a different music player to listen to it.They do try to push you to use apple music instead though.

       @kev It's hyperbole to some extent - looking at steam's hardware stats survey, which is more representitive of all gamers, not just the ones that are reporting things on protondb, puts ubuntu at at least 20% ( https://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/?platform=linux ), higher than the 15% protondb has.Steam doesn't have any graphs of these itself unfortunately, but assuming this site is accurate ( https://www.linuxgame.net/post/233 ) ubuntu has been trending down from around 40% between 2016 to 2019 to now only just over 20% in 2022.

       A friend of mine is looking to try out linux for the first time, and suggestions for what distro/DE they should try?They've only used windows before, but they should be able to get used to something different, so it doesn't need to provide exactly the same experience as windows.#askfedi

       I feel like I still haven't figured out social media. Unlike everybody else my age I know I never used facebook, snapchat, twitter etc. It still all kinda feels weird and new to me
