@josh just wanted to say that recently catching up on the dsp thread I got to see a pretty hard to witness discussion where people completely missed the point and struggle of the forums. Just love of 2iq repeating that it's not a right, companies can't deplatform, etc and completely missing your point that they *shouldn't* be able to. This is why we can't have nice things. People accept their wagey cages too readily.

@becassine I have a neighbor that has one of those Walmart cactus plants in her window and she calls it her plant child and she's the plant mom. She was out of town for most of covid, came back to find it fine only to water it and realize it was plastic. I can't stop laughing.

@becassine She had it for YEARS. My mortgage is half paid off and most of that time she's had it. She would put goofy hats on it for xmas and halloween even.

@becassine The sad news is she has very young kids but never wanted to be a mom. So despite being a stay at home mom they have family over nonstop, play dates, and the kids take their naps outside of that. She's excited for school to begin to send them off.

@HintofLime @becassine Naw man it hasn't been hijacked by it, I watched as male comradery fell out of fashion. I feel like it's a consequence of the feminizing's males crap that started in the 90s with "a good man is sensitive". Younger men slowly started blurring the line between men and women identity wise in order to be more viable mates. Part of women society and living more off of social cues than competition and comradery is social pecking order which pervades everything. When competing you're still bros but pecking order shit always exists and it is the most important thing in that hierarchy.There are still bros out there but it's just difficult to find ones who escaped these mindset changes.

It's a microcosm of our society and filled with the most narcissistic entitled retarded people. @SpaceElf @mushroom_soup for all the antivaxx shit on the fediverse I'm glad I stumbled across this which is just straight information. it gets tiring seeing the "dude died after vaccine" just as much as people scaremongering "look someone locally died of covid" it's all so tiresome and pathetic.
