@stux I get that but other than them maybe being accustomed to a person there doesn't seem to be much to say that they aren't just outside whatever hidey-hole they were born in.

@natecull not sure I follow that from the snippets you've included. My understanding of LOTR as an "alternate mythology" is that all the elves, hobbits, dwarves, orcs etc are all dead and gone and only humanity survives? Dunno why that would translate to preferring certain humans over other ones.

@notjustbikes you say the weather is ideal for cycling, but knowing how hot it gets in the summer I don't think it would be fair to coworkers what have to deal with the smell of stale sweat. If course every office could install showers, but that's another barrel of forced familiarity I want no part of.

@penguin42 @TechConnectify The Australians managing to insulate is probably a bit of a better example, the UK one is the size of a planet. I wouldn't be surprised if someone's managed to fit a raspberry pi into one.

@JesseSkinner That occasionally tweaks my old anti-chain letter instincts, but that isn't a thing I'm seeing enough to bother me. There's a repetitiveness that starts to get to me after a while even when they're points of view I agree with. Good tagging can help make that manageable through filters but I'm seeing a lot more untagged repetition than I used to.
