@ninapaley I always enjoy these podcasts. I found it interesting that your guest was very adamant about not having straight people (trans) in the community, but couldn't see why a feminist should be female. Nonetheless, a great conversation and I'm relieved that the gay community is rallying against the imposition of "queer" culture.

I have a beloved niece who is so woke, she's broke. In my first and only conversation with her about this, I asked her if it would be ok for me to identify as black, since I've always been sensitive to issues of racism and identify strongly with oppressed people. She said, no it's not okay. I asked why is it okay for a man to identify as a women. She said "Race is different". How is race different? I may sound like an ignoramus, but I seriously can't formulate a rationale for that, and our conversation stopped short because I had to go. Any thoughts? How do I respond to this kind of dogma?
