@bonifartius I meant how is agreement on them reached.I heard there was something called a "Usenet Cabal" that manages the "Big 8". Does that mean they are the ultimate authority? Are they simply the root of a chain a la DNS?What about "top level groups" (for want of a better term) other than the Big 8?Maybe newsgroups are just tags that everyone has collectively agreed to arrange in a semantic hierarchy for convenience?
