@stux when i was 8 years old, i flew from buffalo, new york, to peoria, illinois, changing planes in chicago, all without a "guardian"... my parents dropped me off at the buffalo airport, and my grandparents picked me up in peoria. my impression, these days, is that someone would probably be arrested for arranging something like that.

@stux speaking as an actual “weird” person, personally, i think that all the talk i’ve seen, recently, about how republicans are “weird” is offensive, and i think it should stop. 😒republicans — particularly the MAGA/#drumpf crowd — are repugnant, awful, uncaring, and inhuman, and their thinking (what they do of it) is definitely “strange” and “bizarre”, but they are decidedly NOT “weird”!i wish people would choose a different word to describe them. 😒

hey @stux i went through a very similar instance last year with stripe: they emailed me to announce that my stripe account would be closed (giving no reason for it other than "security risk"), then changed their mind about four times over the course of a month. in the process, i learned that stripe also monetises neo-nazi, racist, hate groups, so when they finally decided that they would't cancel my account, i closed it anyway, myself. 😒😵💫

@foone i changed my name in 1984 to a "one name" format.since 2000, i have had to invent a "first name" to satisfy computers and other folks who can't comprehend a person who has only one name. 😒🙄
