@lynnesbian Wouldn't that have been from Apple forcing their hand on NSFW content? How would that impact Mastodon iOS apps, given that we've got sex workers advertising here? Would they give a shit?Man I'm glad I don't have to deal with Apple's bullshit.

@lynnesbian Is it a thing that can be fixed in DM's? Regardless, that really sucks.

@Ether_Penguin @LimitOfX hook up your phone to your noodles so you can say "noodles" and the cup cooks itself and then DDoS's the pentagon

@LimitOfX @Ether_Penguin last year, we detected a breach in our system. we assure you that your top ramen account is safe, the only information compromised was biometric data including live feeds of your colons. we recommend changing your password and enabling two-factor authentication.

@espectalll Looks fine. I prefer these simpler logos 'cause they tend to get play nicer with themes or simple color tweaks. The meta Mozilla logo is much improved, you can tell it's FIrefox related without necessarily confusing it for Firefox (assuming the right context, anyways). Wasn't it basically the Gitlab logo before, or is the one you showed earlier just for stuff tangentially related to Firefox and they're still using essentially the Gitlab logo for themselves?

@sandrockcstm Imagine getting into FOSS and just ignoring all the leftist ideology that informs its basic tenets. Just imagine unironically thinking FOSS is just some apolitical techie best practice or something.

@dankwraith @tasnyx I mean it's still *the* indie game. Made for free, no real expectation of monetization, one person who just happened to be extremely talented at everything it takes to make a video game.

@Gargron In most UI's, clicking on the waveorm acts as umping to a specific point, and clicking+dragging will pop up a numerical display of how far back or forward you're seeking. Is also touch-friendly.Buttons underneath are universally recognized symbols, everyone knows what to do when they see that.Main thing is space. It's easy to just click on a video and click again tos top it without hunting for that small play button. But people are going to want to seek with that wavefrom.

@noelle That said, I do think that the corporate ownership of the "town square" or spaces that are basically public is a major problem, and that decentralized social media like Mastodon are actually important for protection of free speech. The worst that can happen to you on Mastodon is that people who don't want to be exposed to you won't be. But there's no corporation that might decide that trans people aren't profitable and start banning people en masse for posting Zombieland memes.

@noelle Admins and moderators can be held accountable in the fediverse, those who don't keep their instance well-moderated will get instance blocked and admins who are dicks or overly strict cannot coerce their users to stay (unlike on YouTube where you don't really have anywhere else you can go). This is very fundamentally different than most other social spaces online that I've seen, there's some actual democracy with teeth here. It's not just posting "free speech" and going to sleep.
