@drEkua Ugh yes. It's part of why women in real life end up settling for abusive and arsehole men, because we are raised to believe that we must have a man in our lives. If we don't have a man then we will never be happy and fulfilled. The story can't end until the guy gets a girl, or the girl settles for some douche.I feel so confused sometimes when I read women discussing how lonely they are and how much they want a man to love them. Like.... ewww why? Find some women to be friends with to get rid of the loneliness, get a good vibrator, and be happy without a lump weighing you down.

@Anna Are they though? I mean yeah men's prisons are dangerous, so there is surely some fear there. But is fear really their motivation at all? Or is it just access to the women's prison that is the true motivation?

@Anna I totally understand your need to think the best of people. Unfortunately some women have noted that while places like the UK refuse to give numbers of TIMs in women's prisons, there is more info on the number of male inmates who are identifying as female and asking to be placed in women's prisons. They were not trans before going to prison, their numbers massively exceed the normal ratio of trans people vs the general population. They are almost exclusively sex offenders. I don't have links though, being on my phone right now and I have no idea where I read this anyway, here I think and on Facebook maybe. But I bet someone on spinster knows what I am talking about.

@Owly @Teila06 5. People who can't see the truth because to do so would be entirely too painful and, in some cases, traumatising. Let's not forget that many women who are currently being prostituted also call other women SWERFs, because as soon as they recognise the truth of what we say about prostitution they have to admit that they are victims of all this and then they have to actually face the abuse they have been subjected to. This is not an easy thing, it's hard to recognise when you're one of the victims, it's painful, and for a lot of prostitutes it will be traumatising. It's usually only after they escape that they later begin to recognise the truth of what happened to them and can begin to work through it and see things more critically.This is similar to women in certain domestic abuse situations, women in bdsm, hell even just the average woman facing the fact that we are oppressed and live in a patriarchy out to destroy us. It's hard to face the truth.

I was even once facebook friends with the self styled "First Aussie, Indigenous, Transgender High Priestess". He was a psycho. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that there are many many many trans "priestesses" - several of them are probably "priestesses" of supposed Dianic Wiccan covens - which are meant to be male exclusionary. TIMs have been quite focused on infiltrating the Dianics. Most big name Pagans are pro-trans and hate "TERFs" with a passion. I was very sure to unfriend the majority of my Pagan friends and shut down all of my public pages/profiles over the internet, even leave most of the Pagan fb groups, before I came out as gender critical. I have seen what the Pagan community try to do to "TERFs" and I wasn't willing to deal with it. Cowardly maybe, but smart. They're rabid.

@Sherri_Ingrey @mk @JaneLane @DejaVu I can understand jokingly refer to ourselves as TERFs and the like. Laughing at it removes power from it, in a way. But the idea of reclaiming it is not really one I can agree with - the very idea of TERF centres our political views on trans people, generally men. My politics aren't centred on men, they are centred on women. This is also why I don't like the MERF and PERF versions either, because again, it's putting men at the centre of our politics instead of women. I am a feminist, a womans liberationist, a matriarchist. Men can fuck off.

@slightlyminty There are absolutely still people living who were victims of the Stolen Generation.Furthermore, fact is it still is happening in Australia. Aboriginal kids are taken from their mums all the time on the flimsiest of pretences. As an example, when a man is found out to be abusing his wife/gf, she will then have her child removed for letting the child be in an abusive home (this can happen to white women too, but way less often). In WA they recently, finally, made a law that stops Aboriginal women from being put in prison for not paying traffic fines - which of course would result in their kids being removed. On the other side in NSW the law changed just the other year so that children in foster care can be adopted out without the bio-parents permission (I believe it is still like this now). Just a month or so ago I learned of an Aboriginal woman this year giving birth and her child was taken immediately, because she was a drug addict but she passed all drug tests while pregnant and after giving birth - but because she was once an addict, the child was taken. Those are just a couple of examples of how it happens, there are so many more ways it happens.

Thus proving she was threatening physical violence.Except as I have pointed out on Twitter, women have been thrown in jail for misgendering, so.... Not that I think she would be wrong for threatening physical violence fwiw. Men who creep into womens spaces, especially where there might be little girls... they deserve what they get.
