@Nonilex Piracy. That’s what this goon has got the United States military doing. Piracy. I’m sorry for the people executing these orders, and I know their defense is going to be all the confusion the fascists are intentionally creating around lawful use of military, but there has to be accountability for all this.

@Nonilex Weird how sign language interpretation has only impaired this POTUS’s messaging but not previous POTUS’s. 🧐

@Nonilex And yet when a mob broke into the Capitol Building, we were told it wasn’t possible to send the National Guard — who were literally lined up and waiting for the order — to support the Capitol Police in restoring order. 🤬

@futurebird It’s a grift more than a coherent policy, but this article explains how it’s articulated by its followers and why that’s a crock of 💩.https://www.statnews.com/2026/02/06/acip-vaccines-show-hhs-leadership-failures-robert-califf-says/(From the article)New chair of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Panel on Vaccination Practices (ACIP), pediatric cardiologist Kirk Milhoan: “What we are doing is returning individual autonomy to the first order — not public health but individual autonomy to the first order.” Former commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration currently an instructor at the Duke University School of Medicine Robert M Califf: “I would hope that a physician would not endorse the view that medical evidence is limited to one individual’s experience and that in addition to autonomy, the cornerstones of the ethical practice of medicine include beneficence, non-malfeasance, and justice.”

@futurebird I think it’s because the video was targeted at specific people, which makes it easier to empathize with the targeted. I agree that it’s actually more harmful to target a whole group of people with a disgusting (and obvious) lie, because it’s harder to debunk and draws a whole group of people into an argument (they had nothing to do with) as straw men. But think it’s a feature of our cognition that things seem more real the more concrete they are, whether they’re harms like racism or benefits like public health interventions that prevent or reduce death and disease (like vaccinations).
