#Introduction Hi, I'm Haley Sanderson. I'm a post doctoral research fellow at VIDO at the University of Saskatchewan + have a PhD in Environmental Studies (Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology) and experience in #microbiology #molecularbiology #bioinformatics. I tend to work on large (100s- 1000s of genomes) bacterial comparative #genomics projects. I'm very good at assembling bacterial and viral genomes and am statistical support on a few vaccine projects.

Went to work to pick up hard drives. Forgot the only one I really needed in the office. Had to ask my boss to drop it off at my place tomorrow because I'm working from home, my walking route to work is closed for repairs, and an uber costs 30$ to go back to work and pick it up. :grrcry:

So, should I be mad here? I had a crush on someone, they ask me a bunch of questions, the make me think they are interested in me. Th kidnap me one day, not letting me go home, we have dinner then they get drunk and frustrated with me. Drive me home and proposition me after insulting me for like 15minutes the whole ride home. 1/

A month or so later, they ask me out of the blue to quit my career and move cities with them where they are starting their new job. I'm not in a relationship with them and they are seeing someone else at the time of asking so I say No. They then stop talking to me. When I ask them about it, they say they are just busy. 2/

I go on with my life. Talking to them occasionally as we live 2+ years in different province across the country. I then get a good job in the same city as him and reach out. He says he doesn't want to talk to me and ghosts me for going on a year without explanation. 3/

Extra context: I had an undiagnosed psychotic disorder when he propositions and asked me to move with him so I couldn't really give informed consent or understand what was going on. I started recovery when on the other side of the country and have been fully recovered for a year now 5/

@fcktheworld587 I think that is the consensus of the people I've asked. I have to ask because having psychosis for awhile really fucks up your confidence in interpreting reality. I figured he was interested and either manipulative or very clumsy in relationships. I've been trying to talk to him to clear up what happened but he is not interested in talking to me I guess.

I'm supposed to hear if I get to do a full interview for a faculty position by tomorrow or early next week. I'm stressing. I think I did fine in the pre-screening interview, but you never know if you'll get any further or ever even get to the pre-screening interview stage again. At least if I had an answer, I could start to plan because I could be unemployed when I age out of post docs at the end of September. #academicjobs #jobsearching #suspense #impatient
