@stux I think the accusation of being left-leaning is a kind of both-sidesism. Both sides do not engage in online insults and bullying. In fact, there are more than one sides, not just Republicans and Democrat but members like @JenRubin who once identified herself as conservative until the old meaning was destroyed by Trump and his minions. There is a range of political orientations that believe in democracy and respect for civil discourse, sharing ideas, and using logic to change opinions.

@rbreich But hatred towards the #LGBT #lgbtq community and the #blacklivesmatter movement and those who believe #woke #wokeness means learning from #history and living #Christian values will be this way as long as there are hate fueled violent people willing to kill people in #colorado #Coloradosprings at #ClubQ and politicians like #desantis to validate their beliefs. As long as this goes unchanged while it doesn't have to be this way it will be this way.

@stux Reminder: Washy looks just like wonderful Nimbus who we had decades ago. She was left at the door of the mental health center where I worked, tiny, dirty, and bedraggled. She actually cooperated when we bathed her and when she dried she was, dare I say, gorgeous. One of the worst parts of being 78 now that my two Westie dogs are gone is that I can't get a cat, even an older rescue, because I don't have a new home for them since I'd likely die first.

@DeanObeidallah Apple and Amazon are going to resume advertising. The line in this article that caught my eye was: "Apple and Twitter did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment on the matter." Why not respond? Greed over ethics. Why can't a corporation tak a principled stand? #Mastondon @stux I notice that a few tooters have more than one Fediverse server, sometimes five or more. Why would anyone do this? What is recommended? I just toot from one and find it works fine for me. If I want to find toots on a particular subject I search for them from the box on top of the left column where it says "Search of paste URL" - which I think could better read "Search subject, hashtag, or paste URL."

@stux It seems possible to join more than one Fediverse Mastodon servers. Why would anyone do this? It seems all anyone has to do it join though one server.

@Polychrome @stux I can see having a backup for some but have an impression that some people join various servers based on several different interests and I can see doing that. I wonder if others think they will get more exposure the more servers that they are on.

@stux I don't understand this. Why would a company buy (acquire, whatever this means) a Mastodon "instance" which I assume is a Fediverse server? How can they profit from this?
