@futurebird The new USPS vans are designed to be practical for the drivers and safe for people outside the vans.Honestly IMO this is approaching what the pretty much all vans/trucks/buses etc should look like up front.Might hurt the feelings of some snowflake machistas, but their feelings aren't as important as not killing people.

@drmambobob But what about when they are sat thusly, but still have a clear genetic & morphological (and possibly behavioral) distinctness such that they keep separate from the wider species?I must admit I know no specific example (not my field at all) but surely this must happen at times as a subspecies becomes separate species?

@futurebird I keep saying it:Ban them. Outright ban.Fronts of cars/trucks/buses/lorries... need to be regulated to be designed with pedestrian safety as 99% of the priorities. Including how big the direct lines of sight are, and to do away with the kill zones where drivers can't see.

@futurebird As someone working in the gambling (sportsbetting) industry:agreed on all points. Regulate! including strict rules on where adds are allowed, how they are allowed to look/sound, etc. Same as for tobacco & alcohol, really. Society would be better off without it all, but as I see it the best way forward is allow but tightly regulate. Just like one should with tobacco & alcohol.
