       I struggled with Occam's Razor for a long time because people didn't mention the "make it as complex as necessary" part. Even today I often see political centrists just cut away half the data they're supposed to explain. Or more. Sometimes they forget that different fields of academia or even methods within their own field exist.

       @stux He still thinks Democrats represent fundamentally wrong values. IMO it's difficult to separate him from Nazi collaborateurs. He at least likes to stress the differences between Nazis and people who helped them.

       @CatDragon @gme No, he needs the additional brain power to accelerate technological progress and a highly-skilled workforce in the billions. He's been on record saying as much.And considering other views of his, I assume he considers his children to have inherited his unparalleled genius.

       @killyourfm A couple of major changes happened inbetween now and then. First is that many games went on and became more and more of a collaborative project in the same way tv series, films, and comics are. Anti-capitalist as well as anti-egalitarian circles lean towards seeing that negatively. But I think there was merit to embracing film as a democratic form of art.Second, the internet. We're subject to much more criticism as well as information.

       @stux Among other things, our desperation to keep Capitalism working plays a role. That's very directly what caused Watergate but it's also the specific way in which Republicans want America to be great again. As opposed to a USA of great einvironmental protection, great education, or great health.

       @stux While that is a tragic story, to respect that man's personhood is to also understand that IQ doesn't work that way. Scores that high are not scientifcally useful, and the theory of IQ itself is eugenicist and was core to how Nazis governed people. To this day no non-racist test has been found. The story is tragic because that person was a person, not because he was a smart person.My issues are strictly with the video, not you, not even the creator.
