@clive I like your suggestion, those emoji are intriguing, particularly the Moai one. I haven't yet checked out the list but, yeah, I looked through mine to see what I might use when I think of it, likeπŸ’ƒπŸͺ΄πŸ¦¦πŸͺπŸš and I can't find the castanets right now...There's one thing I don't understand. Why oh why oh why is there no hammock emoji? That's such an oversight. At least there's a sofa, but no balcony.

@clive You could use it so often! Whenever you don't want to suggest a sofa to veg out on, but a nice relaxing hammock in dappled shade on a lovely summer day... Or... just relaxing.

@rysiek @tim_lavoieWow. Three months? I'm blown away: one person's spidey sense stopped it, that's inspiring! And that's great training: trust your hunches. I wish lots of places built that into their infosec training.

@davidrevoyWhat a bloody cheek! As we say here in the UK. I get the feeling that this might be part of a bigger campaign by not just this person but others too. I hope they get LOADS of pushback. Not that you have to but I would be so tempted to write back along the lines of, yes, isn't it wonderful that there are many couples, same-sex, opposite-sex, etc, who love each other and it is such a joy to write about them all! With your encouragement I'll write even more about same-sex couples!!

I was going to mend this huge hole in a lace shawl I knitted ages ago. Thought I put it into a moth proof container, but no. Started to pick off the bits moths leave behind and found a vast number of weakened or severed threads all over this thing! Then I thought: d'you know what, life's too short, not doing that. I'll chuck it.Because I realised that I didn't wear it for a reason: the bright colour doesn't go with most my things - why spend ages fixing something I won't use?#knitting

I don't recall what the name of the pattern was. I'm pretty sure it's a Niebling design. Next time I make this I'll do a couple of repeats less. I think eight was too many - if I had blocked this it might have expanded to a full circle. Or maybe even overlapped! For me, lace shawls often get too big, which is quite weird. There's one that I wear more like a cape than a shawl. Well, a small cape. What a silly problem to have.Might try making one with gossamer yarn and really thin needles.

I'm fascinated watching bobbin lace making videos on YouTube. I started watching those by several Italian lace makers, they do such lovely work and the visuals are clear enough so you can see what they're doing. I think I'm picking up on some of the vocabulary in use that's where the list from the above post comes from. I hope I got it right. Can anyone confirm or correct the list?I particularly enjoy videos from The LaceMaker Diary:https://youtu.be/rrRPrAlA2-g?si=AIlvQQtaecF0pGQl#BobbinLace #merlettoatombolo

What I would much rather do is to knit it again, with a yarn that I'll pick with more thought.I was really happy with the idea of knitting the start in the round (like a doily) and folding it in half at the nape. Makes a nice soft edge.I enjoyed knitting this enormously! Sometimes I think that I prefer knitting over wearing the result, hmph. I have a few lace shawls that I don't wear often, maybe because I bagged them up. I cycle through about 5-6 all the time. Should swap. #knitting
