@tek We tend to see a short 1-2 day wave of them every couple of months. We've noticed that they're only ever sent to domains serviced by our Mimecast MX-es, while the few subdomains that aren't, are left alone.Does that mesh with what you see?

@tek Poor effort on the adversary's part then. They could have at least done *some* research.

@tek I tend to look at my spam filter for the week, then see what everyone agrees I should be scared of.That, or check what the sysadmin subreddit is currently angrily patching at last minute.

@soft My wife is a big fan of switching to her "It goes over your nose" mask when we have to go in-store shopping.Soooo many people with masks just over their chins, or not covering their noses, etc.

@rs1linuxtools For standalone work VMs, no. There's no "user" interaction with these boxes. For personal machines, we have encrypted home partitions AND remote personal shares.

@tek @tavi I've had the same follow request. I'm also pretty unsure of whether moderation is required.Keep us posted if you find something that swings you either way?

@tek @tavi Removed my last post. I've seen enough in there that I don't want to federate with em.

@sampo For a remote control, are you wanting to replace something existing (like a light switch), or have the equivalent of a TV remote (multiple buttons on a portable piece of plastic)?

@sampo The IKEA Trådfri looks like it might be sufficient for your purposes. Plus, there's already a blueprint available for the automations.https://hometechhacker.com/using-the-ikea-tradfri-remote-with-home-assistant/

@Luca Full text search can be used to find people or posts to harass, even if the person isn't publicly making it available to search.1: "I'm not a fan of our Conservative party. They have treated people badly recently"2: "I'm not a fan of our #conservative party. They have treated people badly recently"Post one is an opinion put out into the world without specifying that people looking for the word conservative can find it. The user hasn't opted into the word conservative being used to find their post.Post two welcomes people finding it when searching for the conservative tag. This way of doing things means that you can't go trawling the public timeline to find people that post about a subject off-hand, then harass them. There is an option in mastodon that allows full-text search of your OWN posts. This is useful to find a post of yours, or a reply to a post if its fairly old, and you forgot to tag it.
