@deavmi it's really not wrong, though. Nor is an understanding of trans people new. A small demographic of people that just want to live their lives are being targeted by an entire fascist political party, and it makes our lives very risky and our rights are actively being taken away...

@deavmi just asserting that another demographic is mentally ill because you don't understand or belong to that group, well, that really is the whole strategy isn't it. Instead of listening and applying empathy, you need to try and appeal to people's sense of disgust

@deavmi trying to make trans people *not* trans, also known as conversion therapy, is associated with much higher rates of attempted suicide though so there's that. Because it's doesn't work.

@admin @deavmi I mean... No. What I'd really like is for people to stop trying to tell me where I can and cannot use the restroom, or stop trying to ban me from sports. Or stop trying to ban my hormone therapy. I don't care if y'all understand what it's like to be trans, but yeah it's basic respect to those around you to call them the pronouns and name they want to be called. I like people to stop calling us groomers for being trans.

@admin @deavmi the problem is that you're defining reality as well, genitalia. Which not only isn't the only way that we determine biological sex, but genitalia is irrelevant to social behavior. Don't know the chromosomes or genitals of all the people that you interact with, you make decisions on how to treat them without that knowledge.

@deavmi @admin no, you don't get to impose genital inspections on people using restrooms. Restrooms being separated based on sex is a completely arbitrary decision anyways. Where do you want intersex people to use the restroom? Biology isn't a binary, I believe I told you this earlier. I'm going to use the restroom wherever I damn please. You sound exactly like people that insisted that black people needed their own restroom.

@deavmi @admin everybody uses restrooms my dude. I see that you're trying to compare trans people to pedophiles. So I assume that you're part of the crowd that thinks that keeping trans people out of restrooms is to protect the children, even though there's no actual case for that. Keeping trans people out of restrooms is to try to keep trans people out of public.
