@ninapaley This was a really interesting episode but it reminded me of how annoyed I am by the endless labels. Sometimes it seems like labels just convey interest or boundaries which, if that's the case, why not just communicate your interests or boundaries instead of making your entire identity about it? But I think some may argue that an identity allows you to find others with whom you share things and maybe that's not important to me because I prefer one on one interactions. Oh well. Interesting discussion as always!

In 2017 Quartz magazine tested the reactions of four popular products (Alexa, Siri, Cortana and the Google Assistant) to being propositioned, harassed or verbally abused. @1ammyb0dy I think unfortunately that's what a lot of counselor's do. It's so embedded into our culture that no one even questions whether a relationship is even really the best thing.

I also think Kathleen Stock did well despite the irritating mainsplaining from the host. I appreciate that she kept reiterating "upset" is not grounds for halting discussion and that there's plenty of upset amongst people who disagree with gender ideology. The implication from the hosts is that trans people's (let's get real, we're talking about men) upset is more important than the upset of women who center women. @ninapaley @Blackgendermoderate I remember learning about the death of the Egyptian firstborns when I was a kid and being absolutely horrified. It was exacerbated by these Christian cartoons we watched as kids -- the one with death creeping along as a shadow and killing firstborns unless the doors were painted with lamb's blood scared me. :blob_sweat: I think I would have benefited from watching a cartoon like yours instead!
