IT has fully entered the era of industrial parasitism of human society: uber platforms, crypto-currencies, AI ... freely vampire infrastructure, grids, culture, human creativity, ... to further increase the power and fortune of a handful of millardaires at the expense of everything else.Technology does not free us anymore. It enslaves us further.

@bitcoinmagazine I really think that's insulting both for science and the real geniuses you compare this crook with.

So. Apparently the NFT bros have developed a convention to assign an id to each individual Satoshi (indivisible part of Bitcoin) and they hijack the bitcoin protocol to attach big block of data (aka crappy art and memes) and turn them into collectible.Bitcoin maxis are mad it may fill bitcoin blocks (limited to 4mb) with garbage and prevent to send actual transactions. They are currently fighting with each other on social media. That's awesome.🍿🍿🍿https://ordinals.com/

Guys , this #ordinals thing is getting better and better. 🍿🍿On February 1st, the largest block in the history of Bitcoin was mined : 3.96 Mb (usually between 1 and 2 Mb). It contained only 63 transactions (usually thousands). One of this transaction was a JPEG of 3.9 Mb, filling almost entirely the block. No fees was paid for it.Look at this fine art ...NFT bros vs Bitcoin maxis is a gem !The block #774628 : https://mempool.space/block/0000000000000000000515e202c8ae73c8155fc472422d7593af87aa74f2cf3dThe "ordinal" in it :https://ordinals.com/inscription/0301e0480b374b32851a9462db29dc19fe830a7f7d7a88b81612b9d42099c0aei0

Imagine having a "global payment system" so poorly designed and with so few transactions that you could afford to keep other transactions waiting for another 10 minutes to upload a crappy JPEG. The digital archeologists of the future will laugh at us so hard.

In a few days of existence, #ordinals (aka Bitcoin NFTs) already eat 17.5 Mb/day of the (pathetic) bandwidth of Bitcoin. That's 3% of its physical limit (576Mb/day)

@Flies4no1 @digiconomist Ironically, ordinals (aka NFTs on Bitcoin) may contribute to the end of bitcoin. There is a battle currently between NFT bros and Bitcoin maxis : Dumb and Dumber. It is quite a gem 🍿🍿

Bitcoiners are like all fanatics. They think that "their" god/cryptocoin is the real thing and that all others are just ridiculous scams. They are only one god/cryptocoin away from being right.

Cryptocurrency is a cancer that feeds on the desperation of youth and drives them into a gambling addiction. They think they are fighting against the "system", but they become suckers who fight each other in a giant decentralized casino manipulated by a handful of rich assholes: the new landlords.

@stevenroose @Riedler @jr What are you talking about ? We have socialized pension and Universal health Care in Europe. Most of eldery from the middle class have put their savings into housings and are more wealthy, on average than the working population.

Finally, it appears that Law > Code When a court decides something, immutability becomes mutable and DeFi proves to be centralized. At the end of the day, only *human* institutions (aka justice) can enforce contracts (smart or not) and ensure trust in the society. https://newsletter.mollywhite.net/p/oasis-defi-centralization

"People in poor countries use Bitcoin to fight inflation."No. The best they do is storing a part of their savings in "stable coins", aka USD.Most people (from poor countries or not) are not stupid gamblers ready to put their little savings in a giant decentralized casino which can drop 30% over night from a single Tweet of Elon musk.
