I don't understand why big platforms or ones like cohost fail while Fediverse is looking to keep going. After all, isn't centralization more efficient on resources spent in total, as I understand from economics? Not unless instances start to control their own size and only scale when enough people donate. Such.Something about how humans work as community? Or rather how capital is spread in RL right now?

I think I like socializing with people on Mastodon more than on Discord. - Less personal space invasion feeling when you reply to stranger. - No real-time stress at groups.- Have easy natural topics to discuss as they have toots of their creative outputs, instead of blank pfp stare- Mutuals can see what I've been up to instead of me telling selectivelyTho Discord still fits better for RPs and for deep discussions with close friends alike this game design wuff I know.#ActuallyAutistic

I do like to deepen connection in chat software but only for RP or have big personal subject to discuss. Until then I will be stressed of expectations at blank page. But I really prefer following creative person's Mastodon profile than join their Discord server where I also have stress of both being so directly seen by other people I don't know, the constant flow of messages to keep up, feeling drowned out or insignificant. And it's more fun that people can click your creative profile too.
