THAT is why I won’t do it. THAT is why I will *never* give up my agency and ability.The same applies to AI art and everything else. Capitalism finally found a way to enclose human creativity.I’m all for an AI future of full automation, UBI, etc, where everyone can live a life of leisure and pursue their dreams. But this is enclosure. This is trying to make us all serfs.

@silverpill ooh, yes, I remember seeing this! It’s for @manyfold, so yeah.While we’re in the area, do you know of any fedi system that does secure sharing between actors on different servers? Say someone bought a model from one Manyfold server, could access be granted to their federated identity somehow? Does anyone do that?

The only bit I disagree with is "...Thiel’s Palantir is falling under the control of Trump."I think it's the other way round, Trump is just an accelerationist wrecking ball being used by Thiel et al to bring about the collapse they lust after.

@interfluidity smaller-scale widely distributed batteries probably have the same effect; ideally, all the electric cars hooked up vehicle-to-grid. A distributed system is so much more resilient!

There are loads of self-hosting platforms out there; TrueNAS, @yunohost, Unraid, Cosmos, Synology, etc, and they all have their own package definition system. Anyone know of anything that could help maintain (and test?) all those centrally? Like a single definition that can generate/update them all? The more platforms we try to put @manyfold on, the more bitrot there will inevitably be.I could try to write my own, but if there's anything already out there...#SelfHosted @selfhst

Great news from @Mastodon at #FOSDEM: they're going to change the default server recommendation away from mastodon.social, to a geographically and linguistically appropriate instance for all new users.It'll be opt-in for server admins, too, which is great. ❤️
