@HardLight @josh He would just say gender affirmation results in less suicides than the alternative.I think what is most important to point out is that this is a politically charged issue, and that these institutions cannot be trusted regarding politically charged issues, because they'll face consequences if they don't fall in line.This is what people are actually thinking. They look at mentally ill trannies and lose faith in medical institutions when they claim affirming their delusions is the solution.

MTF transgenderism really seems to pray upon nerds (i.e. STEM majors). You see so many trannies in coding communities. I think these guys believe that they’re not men, because being technically minded or reason oriented is not seen as very manly. I’ve always felt the opposite, because I’ve rarely met any women who was into technical stuff. In a computer science class you’ll have many guys who are doing it for the money and some guys who genuinely find it interesting and fun. Just about every women seems to fall in the “doing it for the money” camp. So naturally I’ve never thought I was a woman even if I might not be manly in some aspects.Anyway, the big appeal of transgenderism for these guys is that it promotes them from the position of patriarchal oppressor to the position of sexual minority. They get more validation from their tranny peers than they got their whole lifetime. Many of the tranny peers are fellow marks as well. Bill Maher also attacked both the religious right and the overzealous SJWs. So maybe current year Maher is a good approximation of how Carlin would be like, but just with a bit more charisma and wit.

@strongerthanyou I'm not sure why you framed this in terms of appealing to woman, but I get the sentiment. I always found it awkward when guys wanted to share pinup or pornographic material. It always came off as either posturing or anti-social to me.The only good reason for it is to repel the women, which is a bonus in some circumstances.

I mean, if a thing makes men happy, but few women are able to enjoy it, then they see that thing as a problem. The "thing" becomes an agent of sexism for bringing about disproportionately more men's happiness.Also, they want to trick men into thinking they should want a woman who antagonizes them.
