As a single man in that awkward age where I should have a significant other, but is often seen alone.I try to stay low profile in the grocery store, especially when buying alcohol; avoiding the glances of the curious passerby. Living in a small town, with nosy people, does not have it's perks I can tell you that much.

When i was a more attractive young man I had that confidence haha. Now I'm washed up, and I look it; regressed back to that quite individual people often ask about (literally anyone will ask when they see me, and I'll hear about it, but they never ask me directly which is autistic as fuck) but I'm also far too nice to people, so I can't DOMINATE without people seeing it as "he's just depressed" so idk. IT'S A LOOSING GAME FAM

If the ALPHABET BOYS are sending you pizza with far too much cheese.SAY NO TO DAIRY; EMBRACE SELF INFLICTED LACTOSE INTOLERANCE; REJECT THE HOMOGLOBIN REDUCING SIDE-EFFECTS OF YOUR YOUTH AND SUCK DOWN SOME GOOD OL' FASHION WATER FAGGOT, WAAAATTTERR (with your tea, only water no milk fam, nope, nada, zilch)I'm mildly annoyed that those in power love dominating those less-fortunate, it's a real sHaMe U fEeL mE?

I love how AUR has a version of notepad++ that is literally just running on wine.Moderately hilarious but it works exceedingly well.

> The remainder of the deal is that it is actually obtuse and they should have just made a little language. (By the time you have arguments that behave differently based on the position of the arguments, it should just be a little language. ... )Facts lol; though I'm figuring it was one of those situations where you develop something you never could have ever imagined getting this complex, and since it's been used by the public for many years at this point you can't really go back and atone for the sins committed so long ago. Like FFMPEG is pre-911 when the first version was available, which is wild. When it comes to awk; I can't imagine it being anything but a little language, It's still annoying as fuck to learn (and i still have issues implementing shit without googling syntax half the damn time).> it's a coincidence, or it's something I'm doing, or it's some bug in RubyAll are probable, I'm trying not to be too chav concerning the illustrious Ruby.> You can get a long way with the really simple stuff, I think.KISS; keep it simple, stupid. Though I'm guilty of not following that rule far too much, and it bites me each and every time. Something about elegance in simplicity.> been trying to set up PXE-boot but that is such a pain in the ass to debug that I gave up on PXE-booting Linux. Plan 9 is *insanely* easyYeah i know CentOS is pretty common for PXE-boot but I imagine it's not so easy with other operating systems, since I'm doubtful that most devs aren't even looking or thinking of PXE. TBF it's really only ever seen in business/education and windows has pretty much a death grip on that part of the market.> conky taxes the X server a bit (because it transparents itself on the background ... ) Completely forgot that was a thing lol; I never got transparency to work when I fucked around with conky; don't know, didn't care too much since it mostly stayed out my way for the most part. It's neat from what i remember.> I ran ratpoison a while as a joke, like I used evilwm for a few months. ... It felt really serene, so I started running it basically everywhere except my desktop, which is still fvwmThat's pretty much the exact same realization I arrived at when using i3; I remember thinking "this will be funny" (and mildly autistic)... and just like that a whole world of responsiveness and low resource usage opened to me, it was quite beautiful, I remember only really caring about UI lag after I ended up using a normal DE, and still to this day it is my preferred way to work. Realizing that there was a better way was a shock to the system. I grew up using Windows 9[5/8] so I was skeptical of the value of something like i3.> I was using AfterStep That's a throw back; one of my co-workers has an old netbook and he still uses AfterStep on it for when he's on break and cruising the world wide web in lynx. He is really passionate about it; though I never grew up, or got into things with anything like AfterStep so it's a little bit of an anomally to me.> I never went for a DE. On top of that, I can't bear using something that is, in 2023, slower on modern hardware than a lightweight environment would be on a computer that is old enough to buy liquor. That's solid enough as any reason to switch lol. I still can't understand why, when i got the ThinkPad I'm typing on now (new keyboard just installed which is nice) I can't understand or imagine why when they shipped it to me, it was running Windows 10. Nigga this computer has a weak ass i5 running inside (with nothing for graphics onboard) and while it might have been shipped with 10 about 5 years ago I can't imagine why a reseller would wipe it and waste those write cycles to put one of the saddest, and slowest experiences on the poor thing. Running what I am now, it never lags, watches videos fine, encodes fine, boots and shutdowns quickly. IDGAF what their reasoning was, why waste a license on something that went to an E-Waste Center for a fucked up keyboard? I will never understand it. The really obnoxious thing about current day is that there isn't exactly a stripped down version of a DE for Windows or MacOS, and less and less options to manage the resource usage of the current version, absolutely diabolical.> Yeah. I put in an order for one, because you can swap out the CPU boards in these thingsIt's sick that they made it so modular; even if it's a little pricey for my blood right now. However I think it's really cool to just be able to try out something like RISC-V in a form factor that doesn't make you want to off yourself trying to get it to work with peripherals and shit like that. The passthrough PCIe slotted boards have a whole mountain of shit you have to do before you can even get anything to run on it.(word limit is a bitch lol)

> ARM is kind of a known quantity and I like ARM anyway. And it's really getting quite ubiquitous now; i remember when i got a Pi for the first time (one of the UK batch, so rPi1) and i remember how absolutely awful it was to get anything packaged for ARM. Now it seems that the entire linux community has really taken such a liking to it in such a short few years. Truly something beautiful, and a lot easier to learn/read (as I'm sure you found out from the following sentence) then x86.> a fully open CPU is pretty cool.Absolutely; and in a handful of revisions (i'm sure) it'll be something truly amazing; here's to hoping we see some nifty extensions to the RISC-V base that really make it something formidable. Competition with ARM is only good for both the ISAs. That's what excites me about R-V, just the fact you can freely modify and use that shit is really fucking cool.> The problem is that when you're about to run out of juice, you might have even *less* juice if you're running on one battery. Ah i got you; makes sense. Though as long as you aren't waiting for too long (like during those <5% minutes) I can't imagine it would die on you. But I get it especially if you don't want to lose your reading. Now I know Okular saves where you are at, but I'm not sure if that happens on a normal close of the application or if it just saves kind of like NP++ where even if your bat. dies you can still keep on moving from where you left off.> They're wired in parallel instead of having some battery-switching circuitMissed opportunity for some old "duel tank" action -_- If i ever get one that will have to be a mod, since the circuitry is super simple (the switch would simply just use both, then use one, that way you don't get any major power fluctuation/loss, a decently sized capacitor would also help with the transition)> I keep that off because I hate BluetoothCan't say I feel much different; but sadly i have to use it daily. Buggy as all get out.> I actually put awkiawki on it for note-taking purposes, it is running a web server. ... Very fun shit; I have already put aircrack and wireshark and stuff on it, but no occasion to use them yet. I got an SDR dongle, too. (I wanna try to get it to listen in on the AX.25 packet radio networks.)This is the kind of shit I love about these new small boy computers; there's just something so magical about scraping the world around us for anything. SDR is addicting, if you haven't fucked with it much, this is my warning. Absolutely amazing what those little SDRs can do. And if you get far enough into it; there are some really cool projects, like the HackRF One which I really need to save up a little snuff and get my hands on one. Absolutely bonkers how far the radio heads have come in terms of just sheer awesome hardware.> Those things are *really* fuckin' cool. Let me know if you do anything fun with it.Yeah! I'm happy with the purchase, I recommend getting one when they come down a bit more. I'll be sure to let you know, right now I'm just trying to implement some basic bluetooth shit for spoofing (early phase of the concept) these little projects take a good amount of time because I'm working long weeks but I'm pretty excited to see if i can actually get something good with this shit. Even though I'm not sure how effective it'll be until I try it... I'm currently seeing if the hardware will let me manage two devices TRX like at "almost" the same time but if not I'll see if I can get an ESP32 with a BL module. > Mainly old disks were being a BEEEETAAAAAAwww they are just old and trying their best. Those poor things, if you treat your drives like i do, have seen some abuse š

For the most part; cashapp is kind of annoying since you can't use credit to handle adding money, but you can link a bank account to withdraw money and is less shady then most alts in my experience
