Anybody in the Reston, VA, area or nearby (on public transit lines) got a couch or other crash space I might be able to use until I get a paycheck and can get a space of my own? I'm up for a job there, find out Mon or Tues if I got it, but am dead broke right now. I'm quiet, nonsmoking (allergic to cigarettes actually), hygienic, and well practiced at staying out of people's way in situations like this.

Apparently, they who trade a bit of their privacy for a little temporary reliability deserve neither reliability nor privacy. Google has my data, GMail is not working properly (SMTP servers not allowing authentication, among other issues), and I find that I have not gone the safest way, only the easiest way. What e-mail service can I get in the best praxis model? Trading out time spent pulling admin on the network for bandwidth? Shared-ownership where I pay a share of the bills? Other models?

@ilovecomputers the long term impact is the point, and the elephant in the room that we're not addressing. The fascists can't deny the right of free assembly without a constitutional amendment, or a stacked Supreme Court case, but mass shootings make people afraid to congregate, especially if they're not in the mainstream.
