The base of Mount Everest is estimated to be 17,000 feet (5,200m), making the vertical rise of the mountain roughly only 12,000 feet!Denali, however, has a very low base height of about 2000 feet (610m) with a peak of 20,310 feet. Making Denali’s vertical rise estimated at 18,000 feet (5,500m)! Using this measurement it qualifies Denali as the tallest mountain on land in the world!

@IdahoLark @brianstorms There was a huge surge in 2021. The Muldrow was moving up to 20 meters a day! You could easily see the front of it from the Eielson Visitor Center.
